Joel Arick, Ph.D. is the lead author of the Links Curriculum.  Dr. Arick has 30 years of experience working in the field of autism.  He is also a co-author of several other published programs in the area of autism.  These programs include: Strategies for Teaching based-on Autism Research (STAR Program), Autism Screening Instrument for Educational Planning-3 (ASIEP-3), Krug Asperger Disorder Index (KADI), and Functional Assessment and Curriculum for Teaching Everyday Routines (FACTER). Dr. Arick, with colleagues, has been measuring the progress of children educated using the STAR Autism Program, over the past ten years. He is also an author of a chapter entitled “School-based Programs for Children with Autism” in the Handbook on Autism (2005). Dr. Arick is Professor Emeritus at Portland State University.

Tera Hoffman, Ph.D. has been involved in the field of education for over 20 years and has worked with a wide variety of youth, adults, and families experiencing mental and physical disabilities. In addition to being a co-author of the Links Curriculum, Dr. Hoffman also coauthored Functional Assessment and Curriculum for Teaching Everyday Routines (FACTER) and The Extended Career and Life Role Assessment System with Dr. Arick. Prior to earning her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oregon in 2010, she was a faculty member in the Department of Special Education at Portland State University for 11 years.

Kara Magee-Arick, M.S. works for STAR Support conducting workshops and providing hands-on training across the country. She also works as an Autism Specialist in the Gresham-Barlow School District in Oregon and provides hands-on consultation for teachers and staff throughout her district. Prior to her work with STAR Support, Kara worked with children with autism and other developmental disabilities by providing direct services, using the STAR Program and ABA strategies, training staff, and enjoying all of the other day-to-day demands of a classroom teacher.

Barrett Hogue is a systems/software architect and developed the Links On-line system.
